March 15, 2010 — ExamWorks, Inc. has added bill review services throughout the United States, expanding its existing portfolio of IME services. The announcement coincides with the company's acquisition of American Medical Bill Review (AMBR) based in Redding, California. AMBR, founded in 1996, is a leader in the provision of medical cost containment services. AMBR provides hospital and physician bill review services, medical bill repricing and settlement negotiation services, peer review and related IME services. The deeply experienced staff includes a select panel of dedicated medical cost containment experts, experienced registered nurses, skilled administrative professionals, plus an extensive national network of doctors and health care specialists.
Bill Hullinger, President and CEO of American Medical Bill Review said, "We are pleased to become the first ExamWorks family company with nationally recognized leadership and expertise in physician and hospital bill review services. Bill review services are a complementary strategic product that ExamWorks family companies can offer clients immediately, continuing to deliver on the promise of improved cost containment as well as enhancing its competitive position in the industry. This overnight access to new markets and blue-chip clients will enable even more accelerated market penetration and growth rates than we had anticipated."
Wes Campbell, President of ExamWorks, said, "AMBR's leadership and reputation in medical cost containment is well known and exceptional. The synergy of the company's existing lines of business including peer review and IME services are a natural fit. We are equally pleased about the increasing depth of the specialized services that we can provide to the legal and insurance industries such as biomechanical analysis that include low speed impact analysis, accident reconstruction, occupant kinematic and litigation support services."
ExamWorks is the fastest growing IME Company in the United States, offering a full line of services and examinations for liability, no-fault and workers' compensation claims. ExamWorks is building a national IME company that is focused on providing carriers with the national presence they need while continuing to provide the local service they have grown to count on.
